In a significant diplomatic milestone, the Foreign Ministers of Nigeria and The Gambia met in Abuja
in December 2025 to reaffirm the two countries’ strategic partnership. The meeting underscored the
strong political will on both sides for deeper economic cooperation — a context that provides
important momentum for the work of the Nigeria-Gambia Business Council.
NGBC welcomed the ministerial meeting as a clear signal that the political environment for private
sector-led bilateral trade promotion is favourable, and committed to translating that goodwill into
tangible business connections and investment flows.
